Light Some Money On Fire
Take out whatever cash you have in your pocket. And light it on fire. If you have a lot of it, it won’t make much of a difference. If you don’t, it’ll make you anxious and prompt you to find or make more of it. I think you given too much value to paper money.
Open your mind. See what happens. It’s an experiment. You’re doing it for the science of experience. Have you ever done it before? No. So how do you know what’ll happen? We’re gathering data.
It’s time to reevaluate your priors. And reconsider what cash really means to you versus where you stand in the world and humanity with in it. It’s not everything you own. It’s not your credit cards or your phone. It won’t prevent you from calling a loved one. In fact, it may make for an engaging topic of conversation. How often are you lighting money on fire or anything for that matter. Everything is gas powered or electric anyway.
In fact, this may be the last era in which we have paper money with which to light on fire - since everything’s going digital. It could make for an amusing story to youngsters a long time from now, like when there used to be smoking sections in restaurants or when people used to have wooden teeth.
It could be a celebration of the era you’re currently living in.
